Week of April 3-7, 2017

Welcome Falcons!
     Here we are starting another Fantastic week.  Remember that it's important that you attend school daily.  This is the only way that you are going to succeed.  There is always something new to learn and it is completely up to you to accomplish it; however, you must keep the positive attitude and dedication in order to get it done.  As I have previously stated, I understand inevitable.
     This week you all will be taking tests on Monday- Writing & Reading (Harry Potter Chapters 1&2) and Tuesday- History & Science.  Make sure you study, so that you can give it all you've got.  Each and every single one of you is extremely smart.  There is no doubt in my mind that you all will shine.
     We will also be working on Reading passages this week to make sure that you get all  the practice you need.  Although, I am sure that you all will do phenomenal; however, just to make sure every single one of you does their very best, we will continue to give it our all.
     Make sure that you read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Chapter 3 by Friday.  You will be having a Quiz and a Class Discussion, and you will continue creating your comic strip with your partner.
     For Extra Credit:  Please view the following video and create a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting it to the book.  Also explain why Dudley is cruel to Harry?  How would you feel if you were Harry?

Week of March 27-31, 2017

Welcome Falcons!

     We are starting another exciting week, and I am really looking forward to it.  

     Remember that this week you all will be taking the Math Benchmark on Tuesday, and the Reading Benchmark on Wednesday.  As I have previously stated, every single one of you is extremely intelligent so do not cut yourself short.  Make sure that you read carefully and use all of the strategies so that you can do really well and get an amazing grade.  I have faith in you, and I know you will do the best that you can.

     Make sure that you read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Chapter 1 by Thursday and Chapter 2 by Friday.  You may have a Pop Quiz.  The majority of you did amazingly well with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and I would like for you all to continue with the same energy.

     Please make sure to be here everyday.  Attendance is very important.  Every learning opportunity matters; therefore, please make sure to be here daily.  Although, inevitable situations are understood.

Week of March 20-24, 2017

Welcome Back Falcons!!!

     I hope you all had a well rested Spring Break.  I can't wait to hear what you all did; however, we all know that we need to continue giving it our all, so that we can get the results we are aiming for which are Level III.  Let me add that there is no doubt in my mind that each and everyone of you is capable of accomplishing this, so give your time, devote, and dedicate yourself in order to reach this goal.
     This week we will be reading stories from our Texas Treasures Literature Book.  Please make sure to stay focused and always listen carefully.  This way you know exactly what is occurring in the reading.  We will continue having discussions on the readings; therefore, you need to make sure that you follow along.  This way you know exactly what is going on and you can contribute to the discussion.
     I have a video for you to listen to.  We will be reading a story about how nobody is perfect, so you need to make sure that you listen and view the lyrics carefully.  This way you can relate the lyrics to reading.

Week of March 6-10, 2017

Welcome Falcons to another Fabulous week!

     I must say that I am super proud of each and everyone of you.  You all are doing absolutely amazing by keeping up with your readings.  Not only that, but you all are actually doing well on the Quizzes too.  Keep it up and you will go far.
     This week we will continue reading and having class discussions about Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  You need to make sure that you read because I can determine who has been reading through the class discussions.
     We will also continue to work on passages that way you can gain the practice that you need in order to improve and do much better.  Please make sure to always use your strategies, so you can get used to them and implement them at all times and also get faster at it.
     Another thing, is that you need to make sure that you attend school daily, this way you do not miss out on any new material being taught or fall behind.  Oh! Just like I've said before, I do understand inevitable situations.  Those of you that come daily continue to do so, and you will do amazing.
