Week of October 2-6, 2017

Welcome Falcons!
Here we are beginning the month of October.  I must state that it seems like the months are flying by.  I'm glad to say that so far it has been a pleasure having you all.  You all have been doing great!  Please keep it up.
As I mentioned this past Thursday, you all will be testing this week, so make sure you stay focused and remain attentive in class.  This way you can retain all the information that will prepare you for the test.  You all will be taking notes, so make sure you take good notes.  I promise if you take good notes, the test will be easier for you; however, this is ultimately up to you.  Therefore, give it your 100% and make sure to study.
Students, I can't stress how important it is for you to attend school daily.  This is the only way you will continue to do well.  Remember that if you miss one day, you miss out on a lot.  I ask that you try to be present everyday.  Although, inevitable situations are understandable.
The following videos are the one's that were provided the previous weeks; however, I inserted them together, so that you can view them at your convenience.
Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez

Week of September 25-29, 2017

Welcome Mighty Falcons!
We are beginning a new week, and I'm proud to announce that you all are doing really well!  You all are ready to come in, and those of you assigned to distribute journals are ready to do so, and begin writing on the journal topic given right away.  I want to thank you for being prepared and ready to start class.  This truly shows that you all are dedicated, devoted, and ready to give it all you've got.  Please continue doing so, and I promise you will be able to accomplish a lot.
This week we will be going over: Subject-Verb Agreements, Problems in locating the Subject, Collective Nouns and Other Special Subjects, and Indefinite Pronouns.  I have no doubt that you all will learn this with ease because each and everyone of you is intelligent.  If you ever feel that you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  I'm here to help you, so when in doubt, just ask.
Let me remind you all that daily attendance is extremely important.  When you are absent, you are missing out on a day of instruction, and you end up falling behind, so I ask that you try your best to be here daily.  Inevitable situations are completely understandable.
Please view the following video and take well-written notes.  When you are done with your notes, make sure to show them to me for Extra Credit #1.
Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez

Read this quote carefully and think about what you think it means.  What is Lily Tomlin implying? On a clean sheet of paper, write down what you believe Lily Tomlin means by it.  Make sure to provide details.  Please don't forget that this is going to be submitted for your writing class; therefore, you must write legible, punctuate correctly, and spell correctly.

Week of September 18-22, 2017

Welcome back 6th Grade Falcons!
I would like to thank each and everyone of you for another phenomenal week!  I have to admit you all have been doing amazing, and I have to thank you for it.  I promise that your dedication, devotion, and hard work will take you far; therefore, continue to give it all you've got, so you can continue to excel.
Students, this week we will be going over the different types of sentences (Monday and Tuesday), Simple, Compound and Complex (Wednesday and Thursday), and you all will be having a Test (on Friday).  I have no doubt that you all will learn this with ease.  I state this because you all have been doing really well, so keep up the Great Work!
Another thing, I needed to add is that you all did Awesome at the Book Fair.  When we went to visit, you all behaved extremely well.  I want to thank all of you.  Oh!  I must also thank those of you that purchased items.  Do not forget to read and make sure that you test that way you can be a part of the events going that Mrs. Olivares, the librarian, mentioned.
Let me remind you that if you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.   I don't want you to be embarrassed.  That's what I'm here for.
Students, please make sure that you try your best to be here daily.  Remember that attendance is crucial.  If you miss a day, you miss out on alot; therefore, please try your best to be here daily. Inevitable situations are understandable, but I repeat please try your best to be present daily.
Let's give this week everything we've got, so that you can be well prepared for a better future.  Remember there aren't limits to education.  It' is up to you to decide how far you want to go.  You are the conductor of your future, and I know that each and everyone of you have the potential to go far.  You just have to remain focused.

Week of September 11-15, 2017

Welcome Mighty Falcons!
We are starting the 3rd week of school, and I must say that it flew by.
I want to thank every single one of you for behaving so well.  I must say that I am really impressed, so please keep it up.  Let me add that for the most part, the majority of you are ready to begin as soon you are in class, and those of you that distribute journals have taken the responsibility on and do a great job.  I'm referring to the fact that you all distribute them with ease by passing them out without shouting students names out, or even tossing, or throwing them around, and I commend you all for that.  As for the rest of you, once again thank you for your attendance, undivided attention to me and your peers, and your willingness to be ready to learn as soon as you come.  Let's continue with this amazing behavior.
Students' this week we will continue with Parts of Speech; however, we will focus on Nouns (Monday and Tuesday) and Verbs (Wednesday and Thursday) and a Test (Friday).  I have no doubt in my mind that you all will do amazing and learn this quickly.  After all, this is something I'm sure that you've already gone over; therefore, this is more like a review for you.  I ask that you continue to come in focused and ready to give it your all.  Each and everyone of you is extremely smart, and there shouldn't be a reason why you fall behind.
Reminder:
The Book Fair at Ringgold Middle School will still be going on this week from September 11-15, 2017, so you still have time to purchase that book, books, or items that you were interested in.
Please view the following videos, so you get to see a preview of what we will be going over this week and get ahead.
Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez

Week of September 4-8, 2017

Welcome Mighty Falcons!
I hope you all had a fabulous first week of school.  I know I did, and I'm looking forward to another great one.
You all did Absolutely Amazing this past week.  I was really impressed.  I really do hope your behavior and attitude remains the same.  I truly enjoyed the fact that you all didn't hesitate to do any of the activities or short class assignments.  You all did extremely well.  Please keep it up.  I promise you that Great Attitudes + Great Minds = To Great Things!  By following this, I can guarantee you that you will succeed in life.
Students, this week we will continue with Parts of Speech.  Let's continue to give it our all, so that you can be prepared for next year.  Do not forget that we are setting the foundation for what is to come in the future.  This way you know everything that you need to for next year, and you don't feel lost and confused.  I know I dislike that feeling, so let's do everything we can to get it together.
Oh! Let me remind you that if you ever feel that you have a question, please do not hesitate to ask. Sometimes others may have the same question, but they may be embarrassed to ask, and if you ask you aren't just helping yourself, but you may be helping your classmates as well.
Let's make this another Wonderful Week!
Please make sure to view the following video to get a preview at what we will be covering in the following weeks.

Thank You,
Ms. Narvaez
