Happy New Year and Welcome Back Falcons!

I'm so looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you and giving it our 100%.  Remember that we need to stay focused and give it everything we have in order to excel.  I will continue to remind you that you all are extremely intelligent and have the potential to reach any goal you set your mind to; however, you must put your dedication, time and effort in order to accomplish anything.  As I have previously stated, athletes literally practice day and night in order to enhance their athletic ability.  It is with this in mind, that I ask you to give it everything you've got in order to reach Level III.
I am completely aware that you all are out for the Holidays.  As you know, we will be reading Esperanza Rising By: Pam Munoz when we return, so for part of your assignment you need to do Research on the Great Depression.  You must write a 1 page paper about the Great Depression, and the effects it caused during the 1930's.
I have included a video on Reading Strategies.  Please make sure to view it and provide notes about the video. YES... It will be for extra credit.
I can't wait to Continue with our Sensational Year! Let's keep up the Good Work and Impress Everyone with what we've Got! Go 6th Grade!
Thank You,
Ms. Narvaez

Week of December 12-16, 2016

Welcome Falcons!
We are now starting the week before we are out for the holidays.  This is it.  I know that we are all extremely excited and looking forward to it; however, you all still need to stay focused and give it your all.  We will continue working on passages just like I mentioned, so I need you to remember that despite the fact that the holidays are right around the corner, you must continue to be on top of things.
I want to thank all of you for everything.  You all have been doing amazing; however, remember that you all still need to work and do what's necessary to prepare yourself for what may come your way.
Once again I will remind you that you are extremely intelligent and you need to keep the drive going in order to improve and better yourself.  Keep in mind that I believe in you, and I know that you are capable of doing really well, but it is up to you to get it done.
Oh! If you all didn't bring in the money for Esperanza Rising,  please make sure you order it, check it out from the library, or purchase it at a Book Store.  Remember that everyone needs to get the book.  I will not allow any excuses.

Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez

December 5-9, 2016

Welcome Back Falcons!

Students we are starting another week.  Don't forget that this week you all will be testing. On Tuesday you will take the Reading test. Remember that it's important that you get plenty of rest, sleep well, eat well, and try to remain as calm as possible.
I understand that sometimes you may feel a little bit nervous, and it's completely normal.  We all tend to feel that way.  Just remember to breathe in and out slowly and remain cool, calm, and collective.  Everything will turn out fine.  Make sure to believe in yourself, use strategies, take your time, and you aren't playing races, so please take it easy and pace yourself.
Once again I will repeat that each and everyone of you is extremely intelligent and can do extraordinarily well if you put your dedication, time, and effort.  Remain focused so that you can do your best.  Remember with hard work everything is possible.
Students also please make sure to attend school daily.  It is extremely important that you show up otherwise you end up missing out on a lot.  Oh!  Of course I do understand inevitable situations.
I added a short motivational video for you to view.  I hope you enjoy it.  Try to come up with some short motivational lyrics on your own for extra credit and turn them in to me.

Thank you,

Ms. Narvaez
