Week of September 25-29, 2017

Welcome Mighty Falcons!
We are beginning a new week, and I'm proud to announce that you all are doing really well!  You all are ready to come in, and those of you assigned to distribute journals are ready to do so, and begin writing on the journal topic given right away.  I want to thank you for being prepared and ready to start class.  This truly shows that you all are dedicated, devoted, and ready to give it all you've got.  Please continue doing so, and I promise you will be able to accomplish a lot.
This week we will be going over: Subject-Verb Agreements, Problems in locating the Subject, Collective Nouns and Other Special Subjects, and Indefinite Pronouns.  I have no doubt that you all will learn this with ease because each and everyone of you is intelligent.  If you ever feel that you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  I'm here to help you, so when in doubt, just ask.
Let me remind you all that daily attendance is extremely important.  When you are absent, you are missing out on a day of instruction, and you end up falling behind, so I ask that you try your best to be here daily.  Inevitable situations are completely understandable.
Please view the following video and take well-written notes.  When you are done with your notes, make sure to show them to me for Extra Credit #1.
Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez

Extra Credit #2
Read this quote carefully and think about what you think it means.  What is Lily Tomlin implying? On a clean sheet of paper, write down what you believe Lily Tomlin means by it.  Make sure to provide details.  Please don't forget that this is going to be submitted for your writing class; therefore, you must write legible, punctuate correctly, and spell correctly.
