Week of February 6-10, 2017

Welcome Falcons!
This week remember we do not have school on Monday, February 6, 2017, and I'm sure you are all ecstatic about this; however, make sure to return to school on Tuesday, February 7, 2017.  Remember that as I've stated before, I do understand inevitable situations.
As promised, this week we will begin discussing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone By: J.K. Rowling.  I know that many of us are excited, and I really can't wait to have you all participate in the class discussions, and let me not forget to mention the activities and projects, so I am asking you to make sure that you keep up with your readings.  I do not want any of you to fall behind.  Remember that I can tell who read and who didn't.  It really shows during the class discussions because the students that are consumed with the reading are the ones that know exactly what is going on in the reading.
Over the weekend, I'm going to ask you to read Chapters 1-3.  I believe in you, and I know that you will get it done.  You have a long weekend, so there really shouldn't be a problem with the time. More than likely you will have a short Quiz on Tuesday, so you need to be prepared.  I expect to see plenty of 100's.  I'm going to stress: Read, Read, and Read.
Remember to remain focused, dedicated, and devoted.  Continue to give it all you've got in order to do Exceptionally well.

*Let me not forget to mention that most of you did phenomenal with Esperanza Rising.  The class discussions were truly amazing.  Please keep up the Great Work!
*View the following Movie clip and on a separate sheet of  paper illustrate a scene that you saw in the movie clip and you read about in the book.  Explain in detail what the scene is about for Extra Credit.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
Ms. Narvaez
